Wyatt’s Take

  • Linda Brown, a special education teacher, went missing in Chicago.
  • Her family and police are searching and fear for her safety.
  • Brown’s husband says it’s out of character for her to disappear.

Linda Brown, age 53, was last seen last Saturday in Chicago’s Bronzeville area, according to police. Her family says she was headed to Wicker Park for an appointment but never made it.

Her husband, Antwon Brown, says she was gone when he woke up that morning.

“I’m broke down, I don’t know what to do,” he said. “I’ve done everything. I’m talking to people; we got people searching for her, I’m out of options. I don’t know what to do.”

He also noted she left with her purse and credit cards, and not showing up for the appointment was unusual.

Brown, a teacher at Robert Healy Elementary School, has struggled with mental health but has never gone missing before, her husband said.

The family called police after multiple attempts to reach her failed. Authorities say she may be driving a blue Honda Civic with Illinois plates and could need medical attention.
