January 1, Camping World Defies County Orders Keeps Giant American Flag Flying

In California, a prominent recreational vehicle retail store, Camping World RV Sales, was directed to remove a large American flag that flies proudly above their dealership. The mandate, imposed by local officials, has been boldly defied by Camping World.

Located in French Camp, California, about 80 miles east of San Francisco, Camping World has hoisted a colossal American flag until April when the county intervened, citing concerns about the flagpole. However, the CEO of Camping World has boldly stated that the American flag will remain flying high, regardless of what the officials demand.

San Joaquin County authorities expressed alarm about the flag pole’s foundation and its closeness to both property lines and Interstate 5, expressing fears of potential collapse. However, Camping World was swift in responding. Without a building permit or planning approval, they installed their flagpole, leading to ongoing conversations with the code enforcement division.

Marcus Lemonis, CEO of Camping World, instructed the dealership to return their American flag to the top of the pole on Monday. Lemonis confirmed that Camping World’s flagpole is securely installed and deeply rooted in the ground. Moreover, there are hundreds of other Camping World locations boasting majestic American flags without any issues.

“If we were causing any danger or hindering air traffic, which would be completely unacceptable, I wouldn’t allow it,” Lemonis assured KTLX. He spoke passionately about the symbolism of the American flag and the deep patriotism felt by veterans employed at Camping World or shopping at their locations.

Lemonis, a grateful immigrant himself, celebrated the blessings of being a US citizen. He drew parallels to his childhood in Miami, Florida, where their family car dealership boasted the tallest flagpole in Miami.

Despite acknowledging potential marketing implications during the permit resolution phase, Lemonis remains steadfast: the American flag will remain hoisted at Camping World — the county’s demands notwithstanding.

Meanwhile, Camping World has applied for a flagpole building permit, awaiting county review. This isn’t the first time Camping World is grappling with government interference over their patriotic display.

In 2019, a massive Camping World flag was found to be too large by Statesville, North Carolina officials. The company refused to comply, resulting in a $50 a day fine. Lemonis stood his ground, stating, “We have flown this flag for a long time. . . it’s not coming down under any circumstance.”

Despite the crippling fines and legal costs totaling over $16,000, Camping World reached a settlement that allowed the flag to remain, symbolizing freedom, courage, and the fundamental values that unite all Americans beyond party lines. This act of patriotism is a testament to the freedom of expression protected by the First Amendment.

Being in California it’s not surprising that they don’t want the American flag to fly, being that it’s a socialist state run by a bunch of anti-American socialist that has destroyed a once pretty good place to live. Apparently they take their action from that guy that has bankrupt the state with his give aways. And he wants to run for president? Can you just imagine the damage he could bring onn a national level? People would have to be pretty stupid tomvote for him.
