January 1, Arkansas Mom, Kids Found Dead After Plea for Help
Wyatt’s Take
- A mother and her twin children were found shot dead after she reached out to her state senator for help.
- Charity Beallis had reported past abuse and filed for divorce earlier this year.
- Police continue to investigate, but no suspect has been named as of now.
Police in Sebastian County, Arkansas, found Charity Beallis, 40, and her six-year-old twins dead from gunshot wounds on December 3 following a welfare check. Investigators say Beallis had previously visited Republican State Senator Terry Rice, telling him she feared for her life and the safety of her children. Rice said he helped put her in touch with state police resources that handle crimes against children.
Court records show Beallis filed for divorce in March after her husband, Dr. Randy Beallis, allegedly strangled her during an incident in February. She had also petitioned for full custody of their children, who were born in 2019. Divorce proceedings ended on December 2 with a joint custody agreement after Randy Beallis pleaded guilty to battery charges and was told not to contact Charity or her family except for authorized visitation.
In a statement, Charity’s father, Randy Powell, expressed his pain.
“I don’t know how to describe it, sir. Tears, heartbroken, unbelievable, and anger. Thinking maybe I was dreaming that somebody of having a nightmare in that way. Maybe somebody wake me up, and this wouldn’t be true,” Powell said.
The Sebastian County Sheriff’s Office reported no suspects as of December 5. Authorities are continuing their investigation, conducting interviews, and processing evidence. Anyone with information has been asked to contact law enforcement. Randy Beallis’s attorney says he is cooperating with the investigation.
This case is a stark reminder of the dangers facing families dealing with domestic problems. Many are watching to see if justice will be done and how the system will respond when families fall through the cracks.
Wyatt Matters
This tragedy weighs heavy on folks who believe in protecting the innocent and keeping families safe. Too often, regular people’s cries for help aren’t heard in time, and it’s small-town America that pays the price. True safety means demanding real action before it’s too late.

The divorce was final on December 2, with Randy Beallis being told to stay away from the family except when visitation is permitted. And then Charity and her two children are murdered the day after. I will be completely surprised if Randy Beallis didn’t do it.
