Wyatt’s Take

  • AOC accuses Trump of wanting kids to die due to lack of insurance.
  • Shutdown blame shifts from Democrats to Republicans.
  • Democrats deflect criticism and invite negotiation.

New York Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez says President Trump wants kids to die by denying them health insurance. She made this claim during an interview, blaming him for risks faced by uninsured children.

When asked about being the cause of a possible government shutdown, Ocasio-Cortez denied it was about her. She said her focus is on ensuring children can get health coverage.

“This is so not about me in this moment. This is about people being able to insure their children.”

She also called out Republicans who blamed her, inviting them to negotiate with her directly.

“Because what I’m not going to do is tolerate 4 million uninsured Americans, because Donald Trump decided one day that he wants to just make sure that kids are dying because they don’t have access to insurance. That’s what’s not going to happen.”

Ocasio-Cortez finished by challenging lawmakers to work out a solution, insisting she would not allow millions to lose access to needed medicine.

These comments highlight the ongoing fight over government spending and health care, with both sides pointing fingers.
