A Chicago alderwoman is under fire for suggesting an 18-year-old college student was at the wrong place at the wrong time when she was killed.

Police say Jose Medina-Medina, an illegal alien, murdered freshman Sheridan Gorman while she was walking near the beach.

Alderwoman Maria Hadden claimed the victim might have unintentionally startled the gunman while doing normal activities.

This shameful attempt to shift blame onto an innocent girl highlights the devastating reality of sanctuary city policies.

“It sounds like this might have been a wrong place, wrong time, running into a person who had a gun, they might have unintentionally startled this person,” Hadden said.

“Sheridan Gorman’s life was allegedly taken from her at the hands of a criminal alien shielded by the anti-American sanctuary policies,” ICE stated in a social media post.

The agency has issued a detainer for the suspect and is calling on local politicians to finally honor it.

Chicago leadership continues to prioritize radical ideology over the safety of their own citizens.
