Wyatt’s Take

  • Today’s culture treats love like trash, too quick to quit.
  • Real folks fight for family and partners through thick and thin.
  • Her movie proves grit brings strong bonds and safety.

Kate Hudson says modern life makes leaving relationships way too simple. A good thing we escape bad ones, but now nobody sticks to work things out.

“One of the things I think about in movies is it’s so easy for us today to leave,” she said.

In her film Song Sung Blue, Hudson plays a hairdresser paired with a struggling musician played by Hugh Jackman. The couple faces big troubles yet stays committed chasing dreams.

“We live in a time — it’s wonderful — people don’t have to stay in complicated relationships, but it’s a lot easier to leave than it is to stay nowadays,” Hudson noted.

She points out life and love take real effort. Pushing through builds power and gives everyone around a warm sense of security.

“I think the thing that hits people more than they want to maybe admit, is that relationships and life is hard,” she added. “But when you have the grit and the resilience to stick with it or to stick with someone or to work through something, the other side of that is really powerful, strong and beautiful, and it gives everybody else a sense of like safety and love.”

Hudson calls it a “big blanket” feeling. Movies like hers inspire by showing couples beat hard times together.

Just last month she got her second Oscar nod after 25 years, for this true-story drama. Heartland families know sticking together builds what lasts.

What about you? Fight for your marriage or walk away easy?

People drift in and out of relationships because they are immature, mentally weak, lack character and boundaries. It is hard to stay with a chauvinistic narcissistic person. They are extremely selfish and troublemakers!
