A beloved local mother and coffee shop owner has vanished in Oakland, and her family is begging for help. Amy Hillyard was last seen walking on March 25 near her home before disappearing without a trace.

Over 60 officers and dozens of volunteers are now scouring the East Bay. The community has come together to check trails and businesses as the search enters its second week.

Authorities describe Hillyard as 5-foot-4 with blonde hair. She was last seen wearing a white t-shirt and light blue jeans.

“The search to bring Amy home continues, and we remain hopeful,” family friend Sarah Wachs said.

Hillyard co-owns the popular Farley’s Coffee and is known as a leader in her community. Neighbors say she left home without her cellphone.

“She’s the kind of person that collects people, brings people together,” friend Serena Khaira said.

The family believes she may be disoriented and in need of medical help. Anyone with information is urged to contact the Oakland Police Department immediately.

A candlelight vigil recently drew hundreds of people to Lake Merritt. The community remains on high alert as the hunt for the missing mother intensifies across the region.
