January 1, Pentagon Drops Jaw-Dropping Sum on Weapons as Global Threats Mount
Wyatt’s Take
- The U.S. Navy just handed RTX’s Raytheon a massive $22.9 billion contract to ramp up production of Tomahawk cruise missiles—a clear signal that military readiness is now a top priority after years of defense neglect.
- This isn’t just about missiles. It’s about restoring America’s position as the world’s strongest military power while adversaries like China and Russia have been playing catch-up during the Biden years.
- The contract proves that real national security requires serious investment—not just words. It’s a win for American workers in the defense sector and a message to enemies that we’re not backing down.
The United States Navy announced it has awarded a $22.9 billion contract to Raytheon, an RTX business, to accelerate production of Tomahawk missiles. The decision marks one of the largest defense contracts in recent memory and comes as global tensions continue to simmer.
The Tomahawk missile has been a cornerstone of American naval power for decades, capable of striking targets more than a thousand miles away with precision. This contract signals a major push to replenish stockpiles and expand capacity as adversaries around the world ramp up their own military capabilities.
We called on industry to rapidly scale up munitions output, and @RTX_News is delivering.

For working Americans, this means jobs—thousands of them—in manufacturing, engineering, and support roles across the defense industrial base. While the left complains about military spending, the reality is that a strong defense protects our freedoms and our families.
The Biden administration allowed America’s military readiness to slip while focusing on woke priorities and diversity training. Now, as threats from China in the Pacific and instability in the Middle East grow, the urgency to rebuild has never been greater.
This contract is a down payment on security. It sends a message to Beijing, Moscow, and Tehran that America is serious about defending its interests and its allies.
Why It Matters
Peace through strength isn’t just a slogan—it’s the only strategy that works. When America is weak, the world becomes more dangerous. When we invest in our military and back our troops with the best equipment, we protect Main Street families from threats they’ll never have to face at home. This contract is about keeping America safe and keeping our word to allies who depend on us.

Thanks to Trump and Netanyahu, we are surrounded, and in the midst of World War III. When will the American mainland be attacked?

Apparently, you haven’t been paying attention to our history…we’ve ALWAYS been “surrounded”…even attacked by the tiny Japanese nation on 12-7-1941. They even shelled locations on our west coast from a submarine, and flew paper balloons over on the prevailing air currents, killing several in Oregon. Going back to the Revolutionary War…we’ve had “foreign” troops invading us. in the War of 1812, the British burned our White House! (Although to be perfectly honest…it was richly deserved after Americans burned the British Capitol in York, Canada). Russia and China have also been working inside and outside of our country to destroy us.
And our nation has ALREADY been attacked…think 9-11. Think left wing loons. Long before Trump was in office…and Netanyahu is NOT in our wheelhouse…he’s the PM of Israel and acts in THEIR best interests. The American mainland has already been attacked, several times…during both World Wars the enemy had people here sabotaging our war efforts.
And we’re not even CLOSE to WW III yet! Do a shallow dive on “World Wars.”

It seems to me that every ally should be contributing an equitable portion of GNP to their national defense. As a bloc, our NATO European allies were falling far short of their obligations leading up to the annexation of Crimea by Russia and it took the attack of Ukraine and Trump’s entering office to state the rational position that we demand NATO get their member states’military spending up before expecting the USA to continue to make outlays with questionable effectiveness at substantial cost.
That said, it seems we made a mistake parallel to Russia’s in attacking Irán. They are every bit as scrappy and resilient as Ukraine, with religious fervor behind them as well. I do not see this military exercise ending well for the people of the USA or our allies. The costof an ambiguous result continues to mount.

NATO is way outdated, just like the UN.
The USA needs to help America First. We are not a European nation. Besides, Europe is already lost to the Globalist agendas.
Let them suffer on their own…

They need to focus on less expensive drones.
They can probably build 750 to 1000 small, inexpensive drones for the same cost as one Tomahawk that will accomplish more.
