January 1, Virginia Democrats Spark Backlash Over Billion-Dollar Credit Claim

Wyatt’s Take
- Abigail Spanberger is claiming credit for $7.1 billion in Virginia investments.
- The deals were secured under Republican Glenn Youngkin’s administration.
- The projects are expected to create more than 3,200 jobs for Virginia workers.
Virginia’s new Democrat governor is trying to sell a tall tale to voters by claiming responsibility for billions in new business deals. Abigail Spanberger recently took a victory lap over $7.1 billion in investments that were actually secured by Republican Glenn Youngkin.
These projects involve major companies like Eli Lilly and AstraZeneca that signed on long before Spanberger took her seat. Records show these employers explicitly credited the previous Republican administration and the Trump White House for making the deals happen.
The investments cover critical sectors like pharmaceutical manufacturing and the electrical grid. AstraZeneca and Eli Lilly represent nearly 85 percent of the total investment value being touted by the current administration.
Company executives previously praised the speed and support they received from the GOP team. One CEO even thanked the former governor for building a better future for the American people.
“From my very first day in office, I have been working to create a stable business environment so companies can hire, expand, and continue to invest,” Spanberger claimed during her announcement.
The Hitachi Energy expansion was also tied to the Trump administration’s White House AI Action Plan. All four companies reported that their investments were finalized last year while the Republican administration was still in charge.
“Governor Youngkin is happy that Virginians are being reminded of some good news, even if it means Gov. Spanberger taking credit for the economic deals he secured,” a spokesman said.
Spanberger’s team is now trying to backtrack by saying they handled the final legislative steps for funding. However, the hard work of recruiting these companies was finished well before she ever took the oath of office.

What is it with democrats in Virginia. Buyers remorse is part of your mental make up. They lie to you about their vision of your future, then they change their minds on what future they have in mind for you. Do you think Winsome Sears would be doing what Spanberger is doing to your future. Enjoy your misery for the next four years.
