New York City cops shut down part of the Upper East Side near Mayor Zohran Mamdani’s home after finding another suspicious device in a vehicle.

This links to Saturday’s clash.

An 18-year-old counter-protester threw a homemade IED packed with shrapnel at a small group protesting public Muslim prayers.

“In connection with the ongoing investigation into the improvised explosive device deployed yesterday, the NYPD has identified a suspicious device in a vehicle on East End Avenue between 81st Street and 82nd Street,”

the department said.

Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch confirmed the Saturday device was no hoax.

“It is, in fact, an improvised explosive device that could have caused serious injury or death.”

The suspect tried a second bomb before arrest, with FBI now probing for more threats.

Residents got evacuated as streets closed and the bomb squad swept the area.

The leftist mayor blamed both sides but stayed silent on Sunday’s scare.

Folks, this violence shows big city elites can’t keep streets safe.
