  • Liberal leaders say violence is under control, but many living in these communities tell a different story.
  • Poverty and crime are devastating neighborhoods, and folks are tired of political games.
  • Pastor Corey Brooks isn’t afraid to speak up and demand action to keep people safe.

Some city officials claim crime is not out of hand and reject outside help. But one Chicago pastor is speaking out, saying the truth is much harder to ignore.

Pastor Corey Brooks, who runs Project HOOD, says local leaders downplay violence just to protect their politics. He argues Chicago still faces real danger, with hundreds of lives lost in just months, and most of the victims are young black boys.

“For anyone in our community to say that things are getting better and that people are safe, that is an outright lie,” Brooks said.

Brooks doesn’t believe the National Guard is a long-term answer, but he sees it as a way to restore order now. He challenged Chicago’s mayor and Illinois’s governor, saying they seem more worried about votes than about kids dying on their streets.

“We still have mothers who are burying young boys, and their sons are dying prematurely. That is a serious issue,” he added.

Brooks is calling on the president to act, insisting public safety matters more than party lines. He believes groups like his offer hope for the future, but political leaders can’t keep brushing off the pain of working families.

“It’s up to organizations like ours to continue to do the solutions and bring the help that we need,” he said.

It’s time for leaders to listen to the people and put safety first.
