Wyatt’s Take

  • Bronx families are getting squeezed by rising costs while politicians blame each other.
  • Mamdani claims both Trump and Cuomo handed tax breaks to big corporations at the expense of working folks.
  • Trump holds the line at a Bronx rally, promising to uplift the city and boost prosperity.

New York City’s Democratic mayoral nominee Zohran Mamdani hit the Bronx for his anti-Trump tour, warning that high costs are forcing people and businesses to leave.

Mamdani argued, “That is a struggle that many residents of the Bronx feel individually. It’s also a struggle that I know our small businesses are feeling at this moment.” He pointed to a 6.3% drop in Bronx population from 2020 to 2022, saying out-of-control expenses are driving folks out of town.

Throughout the week, Mamdani’s speeches linked Trump and former Governor Cuomo as leaders backing the wealthy. He slammed their records on tax breaks for billionaires and corporate tax favors.

At a Bronx small business, Mamdani called out both men for giving “tax breaks to billionaires and megacorporations” while regular families get left behind.

Trump’s latest major bill, championed by conservatives, extended tax cuts and helped working-class folks with new deductions, but also cut Medicaid and clean energy funding. Democrats claim the bill favors the rich and hurts the most vulnerable heading into the 2026 elections.

The Congressional Budget Office estimates about 10 million more Americans could be uninsured by 2034 due to spending cuts in the bill.

Mamdani hasn’t let up on Cuomo either, citing billionaire tax breaks and business incentives during his time as governor. He blasted the failed Amazon HQ2 deal and slammed Cuomo’s past business zone handouts.

“As we see Donald Trump and Andrew Cuomo trip over themselves to reward those who already have a fortune, we will stand up and fight for those that have been forgotten,” Mamdani said during an immigration-focused event in Staten Island.

Meanwhile, Trump is taking his campaign directly to New Yorkers, hosting a rally in the South Bronx and making a stop at a local barbershop where he spoke to everyday folks about their economic struggles.

While critics paint both Trump and Cuomo as favoring the rich, Trump promised at his Bronx event to “turn New York City around” and “make the city bigger, better and greater than ever before.”

Wyatt Matters

Hardworking folks in Middle America know when the political elite cut deals for billionaires, it’s ordinary families who pay the price. Standing up for small businesses and affordable living should come before big city games. Our communities need leaders focused on us—not the special interests.

Mamdani needs to be deported immediately we don’t need more sand flies destroying out country let him destroy his
Own country. He thinks government run grocery stores is the thing of the future when did the government ever run a business
Successfully and even break even. Like the postal service social security every thing they touch cost taxpayers billions of dollars to bail them out.
Just look at our nation debt of 37 TRILLION DOLLARS does that sound like a government that knows how to run businesses. I would
Rather bet on the horses have a lot better chance to not go bankrupt. Mamdani talks out both of his holes and his breath stinks.
If you think he’s your savior you’re stupider than you think and what do you care it’s only your money being spent by someone else.
NY State the east coast cesspool of America something to be proud of being a democrat.
