January 1, FACE Act Leaves Pro-Lifers Open to Attacks

Wyatt’s Take

  • The justice system is failing peaceful pro-life Americans.
  • Pro-choicers who commit violence get minor punishments.
  • The FACE Act targets pro-lifers instead of protecting them.

Pro-life Americans are at risk from both legal and physical abuse, as the FACE Act remains law and prosecution priorities are out of balance. While peaceful activists like Mark Houck face aggressive investigations, violent offenders such as Patrick Brice get off with a slap on the wrist.

A Baltimore judge sentenced Brice to home detention and probation for his attack on two elderly men who were peacefully praying near an abortion clinic. One victim suffered a fractured eye socket and lasting injuries, while the other was knocked unconscious.

Tom Brejcha, president of the Thomas More Society, stated,

“This was not a minor altercation between two parties with differing views on abortion. It was a vicious, targeted assault on two senior citizens whose only ‘offense’ was praying for expectant mothers and offering life-affirming alternatives to abortion.”

Despite the clear evidence of violence, the judge chose not to send Brice to jail, ignoring prosecutors’ call for a 10-year sentence. Pro-abortion attacks on pro-life groups and crisis centers have gone mostly unpunished, as the government focuses its energy on prosecuting peaceful prayer and protest under the FACE Act.

Many conservatives point out that thirteen House Republicans recently voted to advance the FACE Act Repeal Act, aiming to end the law’s use against pro-lifers.

Until both houses and the President act, pro-life Americans remain at risk of unfair prosecution and real harm.

When justice applies differently depending on your views, the rule of law and free speech are undermined. Middle America deserves real protection—not double standards.

Wyatt Matters

Pro-life Americans cherish life and peaceful protest, but without fair and equal enforcement of the law, their safety and freedom are at risk. Heartland values demand justice that protects both the innocent and those with the courage to stand up for what’s right.
