Wyatt’s Take

  • AT&T Stadium lands the top spot on a haunted stadium survey even though it only opened in 2009.
  • Stories of kitchen disturbances, cold spots near Tom Landry’s name, and an empty bathroom stall keep the ghost talk alive.
  • Built next to a graveyard and the site of a construction death, the building still outranks older parks like Wrigley Field.

Arlington, Texas’ AT&T Stadium earned the title of most haunted sports venue in North America in a new survey of 47 stadiums and arenas across the US and Canada.

The rankings looked at haunted lore, building age, closeness to burial grounds, and other spooky details.

Jerry’s World beat out Dodger Stadium and 112-year-old Wrigley Field despite opening just fifteen years ago.

Former employee Selena Sixtos wrote in 2018 about strange events inside the building.

“I heard someone in a bathroom stall, only for it to be unoccupied.”

She also mentioned poltergeist-like activity in a kitchen and a sudden chill near a room named after legendary coach Tom Landry.

The stadium sits beside an old graveyard and a worker died during its construction, two facts that helped it top the list despite its youth.

No reports of Civil War soldiers or early 20th-century widows have surfaced, making the venue the first modern building to claim the top spot on such a ranking.

Wyatt Matters

Heartland fans know that real life in the stands matters more than ghost stories, yet these tales remind us that places built on hard work and sacrifice still carry the weight of those who came before.
