Wyatt’s Take

  • Vigils for Charlie Kirk spanned multiple continents as thousands honored his life.
  • Conservatives worldwide voiced concerns for free speech and Western values.
  • Media downplayed crowds, but citizens united in respect regardless.

People gathered in cities like Madrid, London, Sydney, Seoul, Vienna, and Pretoria to remember Charlie Kirk. Crowds chanted his name, held moments of silence, and laid flowers in his honor.

Major conservative leaders, including Kevin Roberts of Heritage Foundation, praised Kirk as a powerful, young voice for America during these gatherings. In South Korea, memorials took place at historic sites, recognizing Kirk’s recent visit there.

London’s rally, organized by Tommy Robinson and Turning Point, drew far more than what British media claimed. Some estimated the crowd at over a million, while police counted around 110,000 people.

Australia hosted two major gatherings, including an 800-person vigil at University of Queensland. Organizers had hoped Kirk would visit the country as he was admired for his Christian and family-centered values.

Attendees in Berlin and Vienna spoke out against political violence, with Austria’s Freedom Party leader warning about attacks against peaceful mourners. In Vienna, left-wing agitators vandalized candles and flowers, but authorities did nothing.

Spontaneous gatherings also formed in South Africa, where the US embassy gates were lined with notes, candles, and flowers by admirers of Kirk’s stand for freedom.

Some media outlets tried to downplay the size and scope of these rallies, but the breadth of the response spoke volumes to the common cause uniting people across countries.

Charlie Kirk was a gentle person who encouraged others to speak their piece before he would present his own.
He was a son, a husband and father to 2 very small children who witnessed their father being assassinated.
    He will be sorely missed.
