• A twenty-seven-year-old former substitute teacher in Texas is behind bars after authorities discovered an improper relationship with a student.
• Angela Palmares was arrested in Bell County and faces second-degree felony charges.
• School officials removed Palmares from the district list after reports of misconduct surfaced.

Investigators believe the inappropriate behavior involved social media communication outside of school hours. The suspect is currently being held on a one hundred fifty thousand dollar bond while the investigation continues.

Superintendent Mac Edwards notified families that the district is cooperating with the Llano County Sheriff’s Department to protect students. The investigation intensified after evidence was reviewed by the Texas Department of Public Safety.

The district takes all allegations of this nature extremely seriously and remains committed to providing a safe and supportive environment to students.

Palmares last worked for the Llano Independent School District on April 2 before the allegations came to light. Law enforcement is asking anyone with more information to step forward as the case remains active.
