January 1, Why Is DOJ Flooding Every State With 1,000 Election Monitors

Wyatt’s Take

  • Washington is sending nearly a thousand federal eyes into every polling place in America after a judge kicked out armed officers.
  • Critics say the move looks less like protection and more like control over who counts the votes.
  • Trump supporters remember the last time federal monitors showed up and are watching closely this cycle.

The Justice Department is sending roughly 1,000 election monitors and observers into all fifty states.

The move follows a federal judge’s order that barred armed or sworn officers from taking part in the program.

Officials say the monitors will watch for voting problems, but many voters see it as another layer of federal involvement in local elections.

“We have never seen this level of federal presence at the state level before,” one election official noted.

Some states are pushing back, arguing that local sheriffs and poll workers already know how to keep order.

“The last thing we need is strangers from D.C. telling us how to run our own elections,” said a county clerk in the Midwest.

Supporters of the expanded program claim it will increase transparency and prevent fraud.

Opponents worry it could intimidate voters and give Washington too much say in how ballots are handled.

Trump has warned for years that federal agencies would try to insert themselves deeper into the voting process.

“We were told this was about safety,” he said at a recent rally. “It looks a lot more like surveillance to me.”
