January 1, White House Deletes Tweet After Embarrassing Fact-Check

The White House was shamed into deleting a tweet that falsely credited President Joe Biden for an increase in Social Security benefits after Twitter added a fact-check disclaimer to the post.
“Seniors are getting the biggest increase in their Social Security checks in 10 years through President Biden’s leadership,” the White House tweeted.
Twitter added a fact-check to the Biden administration’s tweet. The disclaimer noted that senior citizens “will receive an increase due to the annual cost of living adjustment, which is based on the inflation rate.”
CNN senior reporter Daniel Dale said the White House’s tweet was “quite the spin.”
“The size of Social Security checks is linked, by law, to inflation,” Dale wrote. “This year’s increase is unusually big because the inflation rate is unusually big.”
Rep. Thomas Massie (R-KY) also called out the White House’s claim.
”Biden social media geniuses are giving Biden credit for the biggest Social Security COLA in 10 years, but neglect to mention that SS COLA is an automatic formula based on government inflation metric (CPI),” Massie wrote, adding a face palm emoji.
Rep. Vicky Hartzler (R-MO) pointed out that the White House’s claim inadvertently credited Biden for record-breaking inflation.
“‘Biden’s leadership’ is solely responsible for record inflation., according to the White House,” Hartzler wrote.
The White House deleted the tweet the following day without any further explanation or comment.
“Why did the White House delete this tweet?” RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel wrote. “If Biden wants ‘credit’ for inflation, he has it!”
White House press secretary Karine Jean-Pierre told reporters at a press conference that the tweet was deleted because it “was not complete.”

While I am grateful for an increase in SS, I hate that it is because of the inflation. Being on a fixed income, it is a tragic burden to buy groceries, gas, power bills, etc. We have reduced many simple pleasures to hopefully pay for the increased costs of necessities to live.

It is absolutely true that Biden’s “leadership caused this massive increase, because his demented policies led to massive inflation, the trigger for the increase. (I put leadership in quotes, because when anyone speaks of Biden’s leadership I am reminded of what they used to teach at the Army Officer Candidate School – Ïf no one is following, you are not a leader”.)

I don’t know who his speech writers are, but they are dumber than dirt. Everytime biden reads off the teleprompter, somebody else is writing what he is supposed to say. Biden has elected and put in place some of the dumbest people I have ever seen. All of them are making him look like a FOOL.

Seniors on the Democratic side of the isle forget the certificates of money owed to Social Security by the United States Governent (over 5 TRILLION), because Democrats started borrowing funds from Social Security for their pet projects and spending on frivolous welfare and medicaid programs. Then Democrats have the audacity to use the Social Security Cut threat against the Repub.icans.
Some Seniors are clueless to the fact that the Government robbed their personal money from the SS account, they were forced to pay into! The Government is not providing or giving any money to you, as Social Security consist of the Social Security Taxes withheld from your working year paycheck.
Challenge your Government to cease borrowing money from China to send it to other countries and to make Social Security solvent and whole!
