January 1, WATCH: Voices Raised and Obscenities Hurled During Tense House GOP Meeting
ON THIS DAY IN HISTORY…
1941: U.S. President Franklin Roosevelt makes his “Four Freedoms” speech (freedom of speech and worship; freedom from want and fear) during his State of Union address.
Tensions rose during a meeting between Republicans in the U.S. House of Representatives this week as the party determined the next House Speaker.
Current House GOP Leader Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) reasserted his competence for the role of Speaker to his colleagues who oppose him. CNN’s Chief Congressional Correspondent Manu Raju, who was present on Capitol Hill, said McCarthy raised his voice and exclaimed, “I have earned this job!”
Rep. Lauren Boebert (R-CO) responded: “Bulls—t!”
The decision over who to vote for as House Speaker has caused a rift within the GOP, but Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) said that McCarthy’s supporters will be “more stubborn” than his detractors.
“This handful of members are very clearly looking for notoriety over principle,” Crenshaw told Raju. “And anyone who suggests differently is in some kind of make-believe fantasy reality.”
Crenshaw continued, saying that, “they lost those debates, and that should’ve been the end of it.” But, “if you’re a narcissist and you believe your opinion is so much more important than everyone else’s and you’ll threaten to test down the team for the benefit of the Democrats just because of your own sense of self-importance.”
“We will not vote for anyone else other than McCarthy,” Crenshaw said. “These people think they’re stubborn; we’re more stubborn.”
“They are enemies now. They have made it clear they prefer a Democrat agenda over a Republican one,” he said.
Ultimately, the House GOP was unable to elect a new speaker on Tuesday. McCarthy failed to secure the 218 votes he needed to secure the top job in the chamber. It marked the first time in a century that a speaker wasn’t elected on the first round, according to USA Today.
Lawmakers returned to the Capitol on Wednesday, where McCarthy lost a fourth bid to become Speaker of the House.
What now?
The plan is for members to vote again, and again, if necessary. But if there’s no resolution, the voting could go on for days, weeks, or months.
The situation has left the chamber in limbo, as no new House member can be sworn in and no rules can be adopted until a speaker is selected.

You have no idea what you are talking about as most Democrats consider themselves to be Communists/Socialists/Fascists. Uneducated people like you keep saying that right wing conservatives and libertarians are fascists when the fact fascism is a form of socialism the same way communism is a form of socialism. The father of fascism Giovanni Gentile was an Italian Socialist and admire of Karl Marx, a German Socialist, and has a famous statement that ‘Fascism is the most Viable form of Socialism’. Only Communists call Fascism a product of the right, in fact Communism and Fascism are very closely related and are both forms of Left-wing Socialism. Vladimir Lenin made the famous statement that the ‘goal of Socialism is Communism’ while Giovanni Gentile claims the best goal of Socialism is Fascism.
That is why Fascism/Socialism/Communism are all far left wing in the USA and are all totalitarian and are the exact opposite of Conservatism and Libertarianism.

Lauren Boebert was a member of the DEMOCRATIC PARTY just a couple years ago! She is the epitome of the word “RINO”! These other RENEGADES, are only holding the Congress ‘HOSTAGE’, because they either have a ‘personal vendetta’ against McCarthy. Or, they are just after notoriety! This is fundamentally how a new Catholic Pope is elected. Eventually a new Speaker will be elected, but not before a consensus is reached on what priorities the Republicans will act for the next two years.

If you believe Boebert is a RINO, then what the hell is Crenshaw? Remember, he is one of the House RINO’s that have supported several Democrat bills. Also, if you believe this is destroying the Party, then maybe it really does need to be destroyed and rebuilt under an America First platform.

McCarthy hasn’t earned anything in the Republican party except distrust. He and McConnell have worked against our party behind the scenes and done the bidding of the big money lobbyists and billionaires for their donations to them. McCarthy and McConnell have sold the citizens of our country for favors for their own best interests. They spend our money like drunken sailors with no accountability from anyone or anything. McCarty made a point before the midterm elections that they will not try to impeach Biden, the worst President in our history. Our country is being over run with illegal aliens and we, the tax payers, are paying for them to be here and Biden wants more to come here. This is insane!!! McCarthy has partied with the Dem/Communists and accepted with open arms there. These so called leaders of the Republican party have allowed treason to be committed with no consequences. We need strong leaders that don’t have an agenda to destroy our country and citizens for their own interests.
