  • The State Department is telling Americans in Iran to get out fast.
  • Tensions are rising after a drone threat targeted a US warship.
  • Iran’s actions put US citizens at risk and show growing hostility.

The U.S. government is warning all Americans in Iran to leave immediately or find a safe place to stay. Officials say not to trust the government for help getting out if things get worse.

“Leave Iran now,” the alert said. “Have a plan for departing Iran that does not rely on U.S. government help.”

Americans who choose to stay should avoid crowds and protests and stock up on supplies in case of trouble. Reports show more than 30,000 protesters have been killed in Iran, and authorities are said to be hiding the truth.

This warning comes after the Iranian military flew a drone toward the USS Abraham Lincoln—a US aircraft carrier nearby. An American F-35 fighter jet brought down the drone after taking “de-escalatory measures.” Before the drone was stopped, it sent images back to Iran’s military leaders.

Iran also sent gunboats to threaten an American tanker as it sailed in international waters, but a US warship defended the vessel and kept it safe.

Sanctions against Iranian oil were increased after nuclear talks broke down last week. Tensions between the US and Iran are now at a boiling point.
