Federal agents recently apprehended five individuals wanted for heinous crimes at busy ports of entry in Texas. These arrests included suspects facing charges for homicide and the sexual assault of children.

Officers caught a Mexican national wanted for child indecency at the Colombia-Solidarity Bridge.

A second suspect was detained for homicide and abuse of office before being handed to Mexican authorities.

Three American citizens were arrested on separate felony warrants for sexual assault while attempting to cross.

Acting DHS Assistant Secretary Lauren Bis stated that officials would not allow criminals to enter and terrorize American communities.

The arrests occurred during a period where unlawful border crossings have reportedly reached historical lows.

Executive actions have tightened enforcement both at the border and within the interior of the country.

This shift follows years of unchecked crossings that strained resources and local communities.

“In the span of just five days, CBP officers at ports of entry in the Laredo area apprehended five fugitives with felony charges,” Bis said.
