January 1, Trump Warns Hamas as Ceasefire Stands
Wyatt’s Take
- Trump puts Hamas on notice if violence returns.
- No U.S. boots on the ground as Israel leads response.
- Ceasefire holds while fresh attacks test nerves.
President Trump issued a stern warning to Hamas, making it clear the Gaza truce must hold or the group faces harsh consequences.
He spoke after news that Vice President JD Vance will head to Israel, showing the U.S. is watching closely.
“We’re going to eradicate them. If we have to, they’ll be eradicated. And they know that,” Trump said during his meeting with Australia’s prime minister.
Trump said 59 countries back the deal and made clear further attacks would be answered strongly.
Instead of sending American soldiers, Trump said other nations, including Israel, are ready to step in if needed.
“We don’t need to, because we have many countries, as you know, signed on to this deal,” he stated.
He said many nations offered to help stop Hamas if violence breaks out again, but for now, the ceasefire remains.
He added, “But right now, you know, they’re violent people. Hamas has been very violent, but they don’t have the backing of Iran anymore… They have to be good, and if they’re not good, they’ll be eradicated — because absolutely we can, and we have the capacity to do so.”
U.S. envoys are now meeting Israeli leaders to help keep the peace, even as Hamas attacks killed two Israeli soldiers and drew a wave of Israeli strikes.
Both sides have recommitted to the truce, showing some hope for holding the line.
The Israeli military confirmed they found the body of Tal Haimi, a local hero killed after leading the defense of his kibbutz last October, leaving behind a wife and four children.
Prime Minister Netanyahu reminded the world that any truce breaker will pay a “very heavy price” and praised how well Israel and America are working together.
Israel is also putting new yellow-marked barriers across Gaza to make sure the ceasefire is clear on the ground and protect their people.
Families in the region want quiet and security after years of suffering. True peace comes when terror groups get cut off and everyday folks can go back to normal life.
