Wyatt’s Take

  • The Trump administration is blocking visas for people working with foreign enemies in America’s backyard.
  • New rules also ban family members of these bad actors from entering the United States.
  • Officials already hit 26 people with these restrictions to protect our national security.

The State Department is cracking down on people who help foreign adversaries undermine American interests in the Western Hemisphere.

This expanded policy targets those who help enemy powers control strategic resources or threaten our regional security.

The administration made it clear that protecting the homeland comes first.

“President Trump’s National Security Strategy makes clear: this Administration will deny adversarial powers the ability to own or control vital assets or threaten the security and prosperity of the United States in our region,” the department stated.

These restrictions apply to individuals who fund or support activities that weaken American economic interests.

They also target those conducting influence operations meant to destabilize neighboring nations.

“These individuals – and their immediate family members – will be generally ineligible for entry into the United States,” the press release confirmed.

The move follows previous efforts to tighten border security and limit access for people from countries that do not share our values.

While critics claim these rules are too broad, the administration insists on using every tool to defend American prosperity.

“The Trump Administration will use every available tool to protect our national security interests, defend American interests, and promote our region’s safety and prosperity,” the department added.

Wyatt Matters

Working-class Americans know that if you let enemies set up shop next door, our jobs and safety are the first things to go. Keeping foreign meddlers out of our hemisphere is common sense for a country that wants to stay free and strong.
