Wyatt’s Take

  • President Trump wants every Amelia Earhart government record released.
  • Earhart’s story has puzzled Americans for almost a century.
  • Trump says it’s time people know the full truth.

President Trump has demanded the release of all records related to legendary aviator Amelia Earhart and her final flight. He shared his order on social media Friday evening.

“Her disappearance, almost 90 years ago, has captivated millions,” Trump says.

The president explained that people have long asked about Earhart’s fate and pressed him to declassify related files. Earhart was known for being the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic and for setting many aviation records. She vanished over the South Pacific as she tried to become the first woman to circle the globe.

Trump wrote, “I have been asked by many people about the life and times of Amelia Earhart, such an interesting story, and would I consider declassifying and releasing everything about her, in particular, her last, fatal flight! She was an Aviation Pioneer, the first woman to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean, and achieved many other Aviation ‘firsts.’ She disappeared in the South Pacific while trying to become the first woman to fly around the World.”

“Amelia made it almost three quarters around the World before she suddenly, and without notice, vanished, never to be seen again. Her disappearance, almost 90 years ago, has captivated millions. I am ordering my Administration to declassify and release all Government Records related to Amelia Earhart, her final trip, and everything else about her.”

This move could give new answers for families who have wondered for decades. Many ordinary folks still hope the truth about Earhart’s final journey will finally come out.
