Wyatt’s Take

  • President Trump was stunned when he heard about Charlie Kirk’s assassination.
  • The suspect was turned in by his own father after confessing.
  • Antifa slogans were found at the scene, raising questions about political violence.

President Trump described the moment he learned about Charlie Kirk’s death as a shocking and painful event. He was meeting with architects when he was told that Kirk had been shot, struggling to believe the news at first.

“And so I was with the architects…and they came in, they said, ‘Charlie Kirk is dead.’ I didn’t know what they meant. I said ‘What do you mean dead?’ ‘Charlie Kirk was shot,’” Trump recounted.

Trump was deeply shaken, saying, “They thought he was dead because it was so horrific… and it was like… I just told these people ‘Get out. Just go. This is the worst thing.’ This was so bad for our country.”

The suspect, Tyler Robinson, age 22, was taken into custody after his father turned him in. Robinson had apparently confessed the crime to his father before being reported to authorities.

Ammunition at the scene had disturbing messages tied to Antifa and lyrics from a communist anthem, signaling political motives behind the act.

During the interview, Trump said he will attend Kirk’s funeral and highlighted the positive impact Kirk had on young voters and American politics.

“I also go to a funeral for a great gentleman named Charlie Kirk, who should not be having a funeral right now,” Trump said. “He should be out there in front of people. He loved doing it. He was so good at it.”

“I mean, he had a big impact on the election,” he added. “I got so many young voters, and no Republican’s ever gotten anything close. I dominated with young people, and it’s never happened before. And I give him so much credit.”
