President Trump and Russian leader Vladimir Putin spoke Friday in Alaska, trying to find a path to stop the war in Ukraine. The talks are part of big efforts by the U.S. to end fighting that has dragged on for years.

European heads of state, including France’s President Macron, NATO’s Mark Rutte, the UK’s Prime Minister Starmer, and EU’s Ursula von der Leyen, will be at the White House as Zelensky talks with Trump.

Trump’s special envoy, Steve Witkoff, said Sunday that Putin made a large concession. Russia would let Ukraine get powerful security help from the U.S. as part of a peace offer.

“We agreed to robust security guarantees that I would describe as game-changing,” Witkoff told Jake Tapper.

President Trump also posted to TRUTH Social calling this “BIG PROGRESS” on Russia and telling folks to keep watching.

These talks could be a real chance for peace, with Middle America hoping for an end to the conflict and some common sense finally taking hold in Washington.
