President Donald Trump says his long-planned “board of peace” for Gaza is finally official. He’s expected to lead this board, bringing together world leaders and ex-leaders to handle the region’s recovery.

“It is my Great Honor to announce that THE BOARD OF PEACE has been formed,” Trump declared. “The Members of the Board will be announced shortly, but I can say with certainty that it is the Greatest and Most Prestigious Board ever assembled at any time, any place. Thank you for your attention to this matter!”

This move comes as U.S. leaders roll out “phase two” of Trump’s peace plan, focusing on keeping the area safe and rebuilding what’s been lost. Trump previously brokered a truce between Israel and Hamas after the violence that started in October 2023. That truce mostly remains in place, giving this new board a chance to build on hard-won stability.
