  • He warns the Cuban government to strike a deal soon
  • U.S. military presence now outweighs Cuba’s former influence

President Trump weighed in Sunday about the leadership of Cuba, suggesting he supports the idea of Marco Rubio taking charge. He issued a warning for the Cuban government to make a deal with the U.S. before time runs out.

On social media, Trump wrote,

“Cuba lived, for many years, on large amounts of OIL and MONEY from Venezuela. In return, Cuba provided ‘Security Services’ for the last two Venezuelan dictators, BUT NOT ANYMORE! Most of those Cubans are DEAD from last weeks U.S.A. attack, and Venezuela doesn’t need protection anymore from the thugs and extortionists who held them hostage for so many years.”

He added,

“Venezuela now has the United States of America, the most powerful military in the World (by far!), to protect them, and protect them we will. THERE WILL BE NO MORE OIL OR MONEY GOING TO CUBA – ZERO! I strongly suggest they make a deal, BEFORE IT IS TOO LATE.”

Trump also responded positively to the idea of Marco Rubio as Cuba’s leader, replying to a social media user, “Sounds good to me!”

Will American leadership hold firm and keep the pressure on Cuba? Stay tuned for more updates that impact our country’s future.
