Republican Senate candidate Julia Letlow is facing scrutiny over her past support for diversity, equity, and inclusion policies during her time in higher education. Although she now promises to root out these radical agendas, newly surfaced videos from 2020 show her calling a university’s lack of gender diversity shameful.

During a 2020 interview for a university presidency, Letlow proposed creating a dedicated DEI division with its own full-time staff and leadership. She also previously identified herself as a progressive leader and pushed for diversity initiatives in school marketing and communications departments.

Letlow endorsed the idea of having a DEI representative present for all university decision-making processes.

The candidate signed a statement embracing diversity as a core value following the 2020 death of George Floyd.

The Senate race in Louisiana has turned into a heated debate over who remains more loyal to conservative values.

Letlow defends her record by pointing to her recent work in Congress, where she sponsored the Parental Bill of Rights. She claims that she witnessed the radical left hijack these programs and has spent five years fighting against them in Washington.

Senator Bill Cassidy’s campaign attacked Letlow, claiming she pushed woke ideologies while he was working with President Trump on conservative policies. Letlow’s team fired back, accusing Cassidy of voting for federal spending bills that actually funneled billions into DEI mandates.
