January 1, Trump Blames Terror Backfire for Middle East Change
Wyatt’s Take
- Trump says terrorism left the Middle East worse off
- Extremists failed and hurt their own people
- Unity brings more success than old hatreds
President Trump said the decades of terrorism and jihad in the Middle East have done more harm to their supporters than anyone else. He told lawmakers at the Knesset that these efforts have only brought suffering and made things worse.
“It should now be clear to everyone throughout the region that decades of fomenting terrorism and extremism, jihadism, and antisemitism have not worked. They haven’t worked. They’ve been a disaster. They’ve just killed. They’ve killed,” he said.
Trump said these failed policies have backfired in places from Gaza to Iran. He explained that the people who led these efforts gained nothing but pain and loss.
“They backfired completely and totally. They’ve just totally backfired–everything that you thought. Take it worst case, it’s turned out to be worse than that. They have not worked from Gaza to Iran; those bitter hatreds have delivered nothing but misery, suffering, failure, and death,” he added.
According to Trump, acts of violence haven’t weakened their enemies, but instead damaged those who pushed for such hate. “Everybody that’s tried it has become irrelevant,” the president continued. “Meanwhile, we’ve seen those nations that set aside their differences, reached across ancient divides, and pursued engagement are now among the most successful in the region.”
He declared that “the forces of chaos, terror, and ruin that have plagued the region for decades” are “totally defeated.” Trump thanked God at the start of his speech, saying, “After so many years of unceasing war and endless danger … the sun rises on a Holy Land that is finally at peace.”
“It will be the Golden Age of Israel, and the Golden Age of the Middle East,” he added.
Ordinary Americans watching these changes can see that choosing unity over hate brings better results. True peace and success come when old grudges get set aside.
