January 1, Texas Bill Aims to Halt Funding for Transgender Procedures

Hey there, folks! So here’s some really important news coming out of Texas. Senator John Cornyn just put forth a bill that’s gonna make sure our taxpayer dollars don’t go to fund transgender procedures. This is about protecting kids and using our money wisely.

The bill is cleverly called the Stop Funding Genital Mutilation Act. It’s there to stop programs like Medicaid and CHIP from paying for these kinds of medical procedures. We’re talking about things like removing healthy body parts or giving out hormones to kids who are still figuring things out.

Senator Cornyn made it clear that people in Texas shouldn’t have to pay for these risky and often harmful procedures that come from radical ideas pretending to be health care. He’s not standing alone, though. Senator James Lankford from Oklahoma is backing this too.

This bill lines up with a big decision the House made earlier, and Cornyn is ready to push hard to make sure the Senate gets on board. This comes at a crucial time, as Cornyn is gearing up to face a tough primary race against Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, who’s also against these procedures.

Now, let’s not forget what President Trump did. He made stopping transgender ideology a major part of his platform for 2024. In January, he signed an order cutting off federal funds for places that do these procedures on kids.

Here’s something to think about: A review by the Department of Health and Human Services said there’s no scientific backing for these procedures on kids. The so-called “gender-affirming” care can cause a bunch of problems like infertility, bone issues, heart problems, and even psychiatric disorders. That doesn’t sound safe for our kids.

More than 20 states, including Texas and Oklahoma, have been stepping up to protect children from these kinds of procedures. Senator Lankford pointed out that kids aren’t even old enough to vote or get a tattoo, but they’re being pushed into these life-changing decisions. Taxpayers shouldn’t have to pay for something that could cause lasting harm.

Also, here’s an interesting point—Senator Roger Marshall from Kansas has a similar bill that would change the IRS code so that these procedures aren’t considered health care anymore.

This is a crucial time, folks. We need to stand up for our kids and make sure our hard-earned money is spent wisely. Let’s keep an eye on this and see how it plays out!

Wyatt Matters!

Many people are working hard to make sure taxpayer money is spent wisely and to protect kids from risky medical procedures. Senator John Cornyn from Texas has introduced a bill that aims to stop programs like Medicaid from paying for surgeries and treatments that change a child’s body and can have serious long-term effects. This bill has the support of other leaders, like Senator James Lankford from Oklahoma, and it’s part of a larger movement in many states to safeguard children from making permanent medical decisions too early.

It’s important to remember that children are not old enough to make such significant choices about their bodies. Experts from the Department of Health and Human Services have looked into these procedures and found that there’s no strong science supporting them, especially for kids. Instead, these procedures can lead to a lot of health problems, including issues with the heart and bones, and even mental health difficulties. It seems very important that we protect kids from these risks while they are still growing and learning about themselves.

Many states, over 20 in fact, are joining in efforts to prevent these procedures from happening to children. These leaders believe that making significant changes to a child’s body should not be rushed, and certainly not funded by taxpayer money. The Stop Funding Genital Mutilation Act and other similar bills are making sure that taxpayer dollars go to truly helpful and safe healthcare. People should watch closely as this discussion continues, because it affects the well-being of kids both now and in the future.

I believe that any doctor who performs these surgeries should be put in jail and have their licenses taken away for good. As for the parents they should be in a mental facility.
