Wyatt’s Take

  • The Supreme Court ruled Trump can’t use the International Emergency Economic Powers Act for tariffs.
  • President Trump responded by promising new tariffs using different legal authority.
  • Even CNN couldn’t deny Trump still has options for tariffs, stunning the left.

The Supreme Court said President Trump couldn’t use one law to slap tariffs on countries he says are taking American jobs. But Trump quickly said he’ll use other laws to protect American workers with tariffs, making it clear he’s not backing down.

At a press event, he said:

“I will sign an order to impose a 10% global tariff, under section 122, over & above our normal tariffs already being charged…to protect our country from unfair trading practices of other countries & companies. Thank you for your attention to this matter.”

He also made sure everyone knew,

“We will be leveraging Section 232 and Section 301 tariff authorities that have been validated through thousands of legal challenges.”

Scott Bessent at the Economic Club of Dallas put it plainly:

“Despite the misplaced gloating from Democrats, ill-informed media outlets, and the very people who gutted our industrial base, the Court did not rule against President Trump’s… In fact, there’s a lot of runway for the Trump White House to continue this economic policy, which the president has also said works in our nation’s national security interest.”

Even CNN’s Jake Tapper had to admit the truth:

“Give us the reality check: Can President Trump impose these new tariffs”

ANALYST: “Yes. Yes he can!”

The White House confirmed,

“Effective immediately, all National Security TARIFFS, Section 232 and existing Section 301 TARIFFS, remain in place, and in full force and effect. Today I will sign an Order to impose a 10% GLOBAL TARIFF, under Section 122, over and above our normal TARIFFS already being charged…”
