Wyatt’s Take

  • Dozens of Democrats skip Trump’s State of the Union for a counter-rally hosted by Soros-backed groups.
  • Lawmakers pocketed thousands from Soros family and his funded outfits like MoveOn and Indivisible.
  • This shows deep ties between elite billionaire cash and anti-Trump protests.

Some House and Senate Democrats plan to boycott President Trump’s Tuesday speech. They’re heading to the “People’s State of the Union” rally near the Capitol instead.

The event comes from left-wing groups MoveOn Civic Action and MediaTouch. MoveOn got millions from George Soros’s Open Society Foundations since 2016.

Soros gave MoveOn $2.5 million back in 2003. Indivisible Project scored $3 million from OSF in 2023.

Sens. Ed Markey, Jeff Merkley, Chris Murphy, Tina Smith, and Chris Van Hollen will attend. Reps. Becca Balint, Greg Casar, Veronica Escobar, Pramila Jayapal, Delia Ramirez, and Bonnie Watson Coleman join too.

Markey took $5,000 from Indivisible Action, $10,000 from MoveOn Political Action, and $2,305 from MoveOn.

Merkley got $5,000 from Indivisible and $11,022.83 from MoveOn. Murphy grabbed $40,291.44 total from MoveOn and $32,000 from Soros family members.

Smith received $46,800 from Soros kin. Van Hollen’s campaign had $12,200 from them between 2016 and 2021.

Balint took $5,000 from MoveOn in 2023 and $1,000 from Indivisible in 2022. Casar got $5,000 from MoveOn, $5,000 from Indivisible, and $2,900 from George Soros.

Escobar’s campaign received $12,000 from MoveOn from 2018 to 2022. Jayapal took $33,700 from Indivisible, $32,000 from MoveOn, and $56,000 from Soros family.

Ramirez’s campaign accepted $2,500 from MoveOn in June 2025. Coleman got $2,500 from MoveOn in 2018 and $3,700 from Alexander Soros from 2016 to 2018.

The event is aiming to counter “President Trump’s night full of lies,” per a Feb. 18 press release from MoveOn.

Soros poured hundreds of millions into Democratic causes lately. That includes $10 million in 2025 to help California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s redistricting.

Folks, spread the word on these elite money games hurting real America. Stand up for honest leaders who fight for us.
