Some folks in Michigan got a rare treat in their yard—natural snow rollers shaped like big, rolled-up cinnamon buns on Tuesday. These odd snow spirals caught plenty of eyes because they show up only when the weather’s just so—fresh snow, the right wind, and the perfect surface.

The National Weather Service calls them remarkable and says you’ll know them if you see them, thanks to their round, hollow look formed naturally by wind pushing the snow into shape.

“If you ever spot snow rollers, take a moment to appreciate them,” the NWS recommends. “They can’t be made by hand and are very hard to come by.”
