January 1, SNL Writers Boycott Over Upcoming Host Dave Chappelle

Writers on the “Saturday Night Live” staff are reportedly boycotting the show over the decision to have comedian Dave Chappelle host this weekend.

The writers consider some of Chappelle’s jokes in his 2021 Netflix special, “The Closer,” to be transphobic, and are now refusing to accept his upcoming hosting gig.

“They’re not going to do the show,” an unnamed insider told Page Six. “But none of the actors are boycotting.”

Chappelle, who won the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in 2019, is set to host “SNL” for the third time on Nov. 12 with musical guest Black Star. Despite the comedian’s highly decorated career, the writers reportedly don’t want to be associated with his appearance on the show.

But representatives for Chappelle told Page Six that there wasn’t any trace of a boycott when the comedian attended writers’ meetings earlier this week.

“The room was full of writers. They all pitched ideas and they seemed very excited about it…. Dave is looking to have some fun,” Chappelle’s representatives told the outlet.

The outlet noted that “SNL” did not respond for comment.

The real SNL ended many years ago – today, it’s a “safe-space” ragchew venue for the snowflake libs/dems.

Maybe while they’re away they come up with some ideas that are actually funny – the show has been a joke (pun intended) for years!

The should all be fired for their crappy “woke” writing anyway…. no big deal… let them know their services are no longer needed…

Exactly. Get some adults in instead of the whiny children which have caused the loss of many viewers. I can’t remember the last time I watched….probably somewhere in the late 60s/early 70s.

I agree completely with GME. Our man Dave is not afraid to say what he observes. And makes it hilarious. The thin-skinned left cannot allow themselves to loosen up and enjoy life. So, yeah, fire those who refuse to work.
