Wyatt’s Take

  • A Florida grocery store is letting customers shop while enjoying drinks.
  • This new store has become a popular spot for locals, serving beer, wine, coffee, and snacks.
  • The idea is catching on, drawing in families and even visitors from far away.

A supermarket in Wellington, Florida is changing the way people buy their groceries. Customers can shop while enjoying a craft beer, mimosa, or smoothie.

Known by some as “Clublix,” this Publix store offers a full bar, fresh pizza, and a popcorn station with unique flavors.

There’s even a burrito counter where guacamole comes at no extra cost, and shoppers can build their own meal.

Store manager Joe Seguine said.

“Nothing but praise for the store being dubbed ‘Clublix.'”

The atmosphere feels like a small-town gathering, with parents enjoying drinks and watching the game while shopping.

One mother said.

“We’re here at least once or twice a week. The kids love the smoothies here at the bar.”

She also added.

“Mom gets a coffee every time, for sure.”

Another customer told a worker.

“Best açaí bowls in Palm Beach County right here.”

Some visitors drive all the way from Miami to check out the buzz, turning what was just a grocery trip into a fun outing.

A food reviewer shared.

“The Publix Pours section was fun because it’s a cool way of bringing people together and having something unique.”

He thought the bar was “a gimmick” at first.

“It was worth the drive.”

Publix is thinking about adding this bar feature to more of its stores, offering families and busy folks a way to get more done in one trip.

Maria Brous, Publix’s communications director, said.

“As we continue to grow, and we move into other stores and into other states as well, it gives us the opportunity, if the space allows, to be able to put in a Pours, or to be able to put in an expanded deli.”

Giving shoppers more choices helps make busy days a little easier, all while enjoying some local flavor.
