January 1, Senate Moves to Eliminate Taxes on Tips

The Senate, led by the GOP, just made a big move that folks are going to love. They passed a law from Senator Ted Cruz from Texas that stops taxes on tips, just like President Trump promised during his campaign. This is great news for hard-working Americans!
Earlier, it seemed like Senate Republicans were going to stop this plan because they were working on a larger bill that also included no taxes on tips. But guess what? The Senate gave a big thumbs up to Senator Cruz’s “No Tax on Tips Act” without any fuss, which is a fast way of getting things done.
Senator Cruz was really excited and said, “President Trump promised to get rid of taxes on tips, and we’re getting it done!” He teamed up with Senator Jacky Rosen and went to the Senate to make sure it passed. This is a huge win for blue-collar workers who work so hard for their money.
The new law will let people who earn tips, like waiters and waitresses, keep more of their money. They can now deduct up to $25,000 of cash tips from their taxes, as long as they don’t earn over a certain amount. This is going to help a lot of people!
Cruz’s team explains that the law stops federal income taxes on all types of cash tips. This means more money in the pockets of those who need it most.
Now, the bill heads over to the House, where they are working on an even bigger bill that includes other Trump ideas, like no taxes on overtime and car loans. We hope the House will pass this bill quickly so it can go to the President’s desk to become law.
Democrats, including Vice President Kamala Harris, even liked this idea. They all agree that this is good for American workers and families. Senator Rosen supported Cruz’s plan because she believes in helping working families more than just adding more rules and taxes.
Let’s all watch what happens next!
Wyatt Matters!
The new law that stops taxes on tips is a fantastic development for people who rely on tips to make ends meet, like waiters and waitresses. It means that people who work so hard can keep more of the money they earn, which is only fair. Before this law, workers had to give a portion of their tips to the government as taxes, but now they get to keep more of what they earn. This change is going to make a positive difference for so many families who might be struggling to pay their bills or save for the future.
This law represents teamwork in the government. Even though there are often disagreements, people from different parties came together to support something that helps American workers. It’s important to remember how much teamwork can accomplish. By working together, senators Ted Cruz and Jacky Rosen got the Senate to agree quickly, and this cooperation shows that leaders can put people first and make things happen when they focus on common goals.
As we watch the bill go to the House, we should hope for more positive changes in the future. The idea of not taxing overtime and car loans is another exciting possibility that could help many people. It’s nice to see government leaders finding ways to directly support families and workers. This kind of action can help build a better economy where everyone can benefit, and that is something to cheer for.

And how about taxes on Social Security??? Everyone thinks because you paid into SS it is free. It is not . Since the early 80’s SS has been taxed. The amount of taxes paid monthly would pay for someone’s groceries.

Good for Trump. My bet is the democrats will vote against the no tax on tips. They are against anything that the Republicans are for. No matter how good it may be for the country. Remember they aklll voted against the badly needed tax reform which Trump got during his first term, and it gave everyone a double personal deduction. The democrat voters don’t know this however.
