  • Senate filibuster stalls it short of 60 amid growing Iran terror risks.
  • Federal workers miss paychecks in shutdown politicians prolong.

House passed a bill Thursday funding Department of Homeland Security through September.

Just four Democrats backed it, down from more support in January.

The bill heads to Republican Senate but faces Democrat roadblock needing 60 votes.

An earlier measure got 51-45 yes but failed cloture. Senator Fetterman stood alone as Democrat supporter.

Partial shutdown hit February 14 hurting TSA, FEMA workers.

ICE stays funded from last year’s big bill. Senate Majority Leader John Thune warns against games now.

“It shouldn’t need saying that it’s always a terrible idea to use the Department of Homeland Security as a political pawn,” Thune said.

“Above all right now, with an enhanced terror threat from Iran and Iran-funded terrorist groups, it is vital that we ensure the Department of Homeland Security is fully funded and fully functioning,” he added.

Representative Hakeem Jeffries blasts the push.

“[Donald Trump] wants to use his unauthorized war as an excuse to continue spending taxpayer dollars to brutalize or kill American citizens by continuing to unleash ICE without restriction on the American people. The whole thing is insane. Make it make sense, because it does not,” Jeffries said.

Trump plans to replace DHS Secretary Kristi Noem. Jeffries calls for policy shift instead.

Senator Richard Blumenthal eyes leadership swap to unlock talks.

This means that ANYTHING bad that happens will be OWNED by the Dems/Socialists/Communists. And all for law enforcement doing a job they would not have to do it the last administration had have followed immigration law instead of ignoring it FOR VOTES!!! The last administration ENMASSE should be put in jail. Oh, and lets not forget those PAID demonstrators that broke the law. No sympathy for those that threatened law enforcement and paid for it.

    Jeffries,
If you truly believe what you said, and you don’t, you could do a lot of things to stop it. That is all Jeffries is good for, lying, even when Ho knows it is not true.
Do you really think is doing what he does to kill people?????
You are just an insane fool. How did anyone ever think you could do anything productive?

Those worthless politicians are causing a lot of stress on ordinary Americans for selfish political reasons. What a way to run the greatest country on earth. It’s a tragedy to see all of this happening and it just won’t stop. Only one way to solve this problem – vote these guys out. They’re hurting us.
