January 1, Republicans Miss Key Trump Wins on Election Night
Wyatt’s Take
- Many Republicans ignored Trump’s victories during their campaigns.
- Recent Trump-led policies have fueled job growth and helped workers.
- Better messaging on economic wins could shift future elections.
Republicans fell short in Tuesday’s off-year elections, with several high-profile candidates barely mentioning President Trump’s major achievements, missing a chance to connect with voters around the kitchen table issues that matter most.
Alfred Ortiz, head of Job Creators Network, noted,
“Look at gas prices. We’re at the lowest gas prices in four years. Did you hear about that during this election? No. Did you hear about the wonderful opportunity for people who are hourly workers for no tax for overtime, no tax on tips or Social Security? None of it was truly discussed.”
Trump’s “One Big Beautiful Bill Act,” signed on July 4, locked in permanent tax relief for millions of small business owners, leading to $60 billion in projected investments for Main Street businesses, according to small business groups.
Ortiz praised the move, saying,
“We had an incredible day on July 4, the signing of the One Big Beautiful Bill, amazing things, too numerous, that were in the one big beautiful. But it did an amazing job of trying to move things forward for the average American and for making life more affordable.”
The Trump economy has rebounded, shrugging off the previous leadership’s sluggish numbers. Growth reached an annualized 3.8% pace, jobs grew strong, and personal incomes rose everywhere—helping working families overcome economic headwinds.
Wages for American workers are rising at the fastest rate in 60 years. Unemployment stayed low, and payrolls keep growing, especially in frontline sectors like health care.
Consumer spending remains strong, making up most of the economic growth.
Inflation cooled in recent months, with the cost of living and key goods dropping, inching closer to the Federal Reserve’s comfort zone. Real wages have trended upward, opening the door for better times ahead.
Ortiz warned that unless Republicans promote these concrete wins for working Americans, they’ll let Democrats claim the credit.
He pointed out,
“Their message of affordability broke through. We’re the part of affordability. We’re the party that brought gas prices down, that brought electricity prices down, that are bringing the cost of living down. But did any of that get translated? No. All we heard about was a government shutdown.”
Republican candidates could better connect with everyday Americans by focusing on these results, not just political arguments. The right message makes a difference.

When politicians ignore real wins for families and small businesses, Middle Americans lose out. Focusing on practical solutions over political battles is what our towns need most.
