Prince Andrew has been served with a lawsuit from a woman alleging he had sex with her when she was underage.

Virginia Roberts Giuffre first filed the lawsuit in a New York federal court in early August. The lawsuit claims that while convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein trafficked her, she was “forced to have sexual intercourse with Prince Andrew against her will.”

Giuffre claims Epstein’s associate Ghislaine Maxwell, who is now in jail, directed her to have sex with Prince Andrew in multiple locations between 2000 and 2002.

“The powerful and rich are not exempt from being held responsible for their actions,” Giuffre said in a statement. “I did not come to this decision lightly. As a mother and a wife, my family comes first — and I know that this action will subject me to further attacks by Prince Andrew and his surrogates — but I knew if I did not pursue this action, I would be letting them and victims everywhere down.”
