  • The hospital says it stands for patient safety and respect.

A New Jersey hospital says a doctor has resigned following allegations he celebrated Charlie Kirk’s assassination in front of staff and patients. The nurse who raised the alarm, Lexi Kuenzle, will remain employed without losing any pay, according to the hospital.

Englewood Health “diligently investigated” the incident but did not share details from its findings. It confirmed that the nurse “was never fired; was never told she would be fired … and will not miss any pay as part of our review of this matter.”

“He was standing there, celebrating the death of Charlie Kirk, saying how ‘he deserved it,’ he hated Charlie Kirk and ‘he had it coming to him,’” said Kuenzle, who called herself “a big fan of Charlie Kirk.”

“Speaking up wasn’t optional for me; it was my duty as a nurse to protect patients from that kind of cruelty and to uphold the integrity of our profession,” Kuenzle explained.

Her attorney called her suspension “unjust” and “unlawful,” but added, “We are pleased that Ms. Kuenzle has been offered the chance to continue in her position and receive the pay she was wrongly denied, and we will be working with the hospital to resolve the remaining details.”

The hospital also restated its commitment to a safe and respectful environment for everyone.
