Wyatt’s Take

  • Even liberal hosts see Newsom’s social media behavior as embarrassing.
  • Democrats get called out for not talking about real issues.
  • Mocking and name-calling isn’t fixing anyone’s problems.

Joe Scarborough, the MSNBC host, joined in on calling out California Governor Gavin Newsom for trying to act like Donald Trump online. The governor’s posts on X, loaded with capital letters and strange nicknames, even got pushback from Dana Perino over at Fox News.

Scarborough didn’t hold back, saying Newsom’s moves looked “embarrassing” and pointing out how out of touch the Democrats seem.

“You can see the Democrats are trying to find their footing, and it’s quite embarrassing, actually. I mean, Gavin Newsom. I mean, have you seen what he’s doing online? And it’s like, ugh, just take a deep breath. Don’t try to turn the ship 180 degrees in one — they don’t know what to do,” Scarborough observed.

“I have a good idea. Instead of trying to school Donald Trump, talk into the camera about affordability… Talk about making groceries more affordable. Talk about what you’re going to do for housing. Talk about what you’re going to do for energy prices that continue to go up.”

Dana Perino echoed Scarborough’s thoughts, telling viewers that Newsom should stop with his Twitter rants and calling his online act foolish.

“For the last week, Gavin Newsom — why am I giving him advice? You have to stop it with the Twitter thing. I don’t know where his wife is. If I were his wife, I would say you are making a fool of yourself, stop it.”

Newsom’s team fired back with loud, all-caps tweets, boasting about being America’s “most favorite governor,” but everyday folks are still stuck with high bills and politicians who seem more interested in insults than solutions.

If you’re tired of politicians playing games online instead of fixing the cost of basics, you’re not alone—let’s get back to leaders who put folks first.

Wyatt Matters

Middle America expects common sense and honest solutions from its leaders, not more showboating online. Turning politics into a circus doesn’t help the families working to make ends meet.
