Co-hosts Jonathan Lemire and John Heilemann made it clear that no one is defending Jones this time.

Lemire said the messages have been condemned by both parties and noted that Congresswoman Spanberger quickly denounced them as well.

Spanberger said she confronted Jones and made it clear he must own up to his words.

Still, she and other Democrats have stopped short of forcing him out of the race.
