Rep. Marjorie Taylor Greene (R-GA) confused gazpacho with the Gestapo during a recent interview, video of which quickly became fodder for internet jokesters.

Greene spoke about the House Select Committee’s investigation into the Jan. 6 Capitol riot, railing against House Speaker Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) and her “gazpacho police.”

“Not only do we have the DC jail, which is the DC gulag,” Greene told One America News. “But now we have Nancy Pelosi’s gazpacho police spying on members of Congress, spying on the legislative work that we do, spying on our staffs, and spying on American citizens that want to come talk to their representatives.”

Jokes were immediately abound, including one from Greene herself.

“No soup for those who illegally spy on Members of Congress, but they will be thrown in the goulash,” Greene said in a statement, referring to the classic Seinfeld character, The Soup Nazi.

Actor Larry Thomas, who played the Soup Nazi, weighed in on the gaffe.

“They say ‘You can’t write this s—t.’ It’s beyond you can’t write this s—t,” he told The Guardian.
