Kelly Clarkson is postponing the rest of her Las Vegas residency shows. She told fans she needs to be there for her kids, as their father is seriously ill.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” Clarkson posted on Instagram. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”

Clarkson said she’s sorry to ticket holders and thanked them for their kindness and understanding.

Last month, she delayed the opening of her residency hours before showtime, sharing the need to protect her voice. She explained that rehearsal demands left her needing rest, promising to return when ready to deliver a top performance.

“We have been working 24/7 to make Studio Sessions the most intimate and extraordinary experience with and for my incredible fans,” Clarkson wrote. “I am beyond grateful that you always show up for me and I am devastated to have to postpone tonight and tomorrow’s opening at Caesars.”

She also mentioned taking some time off from her show earlier this year, letting others guest host after celebrating 1,000 episodes.

Clarkson has faced a rough few years with a very public divorce but keeps pushing forward for her children and her fans.
