Wyatt’s Take

  • Jimmy Kimmel compares anti-Trump ‘No Kings’ protests to America’s founding days.
  • Thousands of protests are set nationwide, led by progressive groups.
  • Republican leaders push back, calling the movement anti-American.

Jimmy Kimmel is drawing lines again, tying upcoming ‘No Kings’ protests to the spirit of the American Revolution. He says these rallies stand for what Patriots once fought for.

“There is nothing more American than a political protest. The American Revolution was a ‘No Kings’ protest,” Kimmel said.

This Saturday, over 2,500 demonstrations are planned across every state. Protesters aim to show they oppose Trump policies on immigration and crime with yellow shirts as a sign of unity.

Organizers accuse the administration of turning police against neighborhoods and giving the rich a break while working people struggle.

More than 200 liberal groups are backing the events, hoping millions show up in big cities from Washington, D.C. to Los Angeles. Protesters are told to come prepared and stand out for their cause.

Republican leaders are firing back, saying these protests don’t line up with American values. House Speaker Mike Johnson ties them to far-left groups and accuses Democrats of playing political games with government decisions.

Kimmel isn’t backing down. He says Republicans have double standards when it comes to protests. He pokes fun at the notion that only one side is patriotic.

“So just to be clear, peacefully protesting a wannabe dictator means you hate America. Attacking the Capitol to overturn America? Patriotic walking tour,” he said.

Kimmel jokes about making protest signs aimed at Trump, warning folks not to use mocking nicknames or get in trouble with the law.

The late-night host recently returned from a suspension after making controversial remarks. He claims his words were twisted out of context.
