January 1, Homan Shuts Down ICE Surge in Minnesota

Wyatt’s Take
- Operation Metro Surge in Minnesota is ending after thousands of arrests.
- Most federal agents will leave, but security teams will stay to protect officers.
- Local leaders and law enforcement worked closely with federal officials during the surge.
The big ICE crackdown led by Tom Homan in Minnesota is wrapping up. Agents made thousands of arrests, focusing on people seen as public safety threats.
Now, most of those agents are getting sent back to their usual places.
Homan said.
“With that, and the success that has been made arresting public safety threats and other priorities since this operation began, as well as the unprecedented levels of coordination we received from state officials and local law enforcement, I have proposed, and President Trump has concurred that this surge operation conclude.”
Operation Metro Surge began in December 2025 with about 3,000 immigration agents sent in to arrest illegal aliens. Earlier this month, 700 federal officers were pulled out of the Minneapolis-St. Paul area after what officials called great teamwork with state and local leaders.
Some security teams will keep working in Minnesota to keep immigration officers safe. Homan explained enforcement would still happen statewide, but public safety threats come first.
President Trump had sent Homan to Minnesota after unrest over shootings by federal officials. Homan said around 4,000 people have been arrested.
Meetings with Governor Tim Walz and Attorney General Keith Ellison also took place to talk safety and law enforcement plans.
The immigration fight is far from over. But for now, things are changing back to normal in Minnesota.
Wyatt Matters
Federal moves like this show that law and order still matter, even when it’s tough. Locals want to know their communities are safe, and this is a reminder that Main Street voices can shape what happens in their own towns.

I agree they can’t stay there- but disagree that it’s been productive. The arrests should be anyone and everyone involved in fraud, illegal aliens(including govt related) , and anyone who tried to stop ice from doing its job.

This is a victory for George Soros’ paid Communist agitators. Look for these Communist insurrectionists to invade and wreck havoc on other large Communist-run American cities soon. If the federal government refuses to protect citizens from Communist and Antifa terrorists, then we will have no choice but to form armed militias to meet terror with terror.
