Bishop Gorman, leading 35-14 in the third quarter, got the win over Lone Peak after officials declared a forfeit.

The trouble started after a big passing play, when several Lone Peak players charged onto the field from the bench, sparking the incident.

Referees conferred and used a Nevada Interscholastic Activities Association rule: if more than three players leave the sideline during a disruption, the game is automatically called off with a forfeit.

Not a single Bishop Gorman player joined the fight, so the fault landed squarely on Lone Peak.

Bishop Gorman now stands 2-0 on the season and remains a national top contender, but the way this game ended left a sour taste for many fans and locals alike.
