Ben and Erin Napier, known from HGTV’s “Home Town,” talked openly about being a married couple who also work together. They said being honest—even when it stings—is what keeps their bond strong.

“I feel really lucky that we both knew,” Erin shared about how she and Ben realized they’d marry shortly after meeting. She added, “People don’t take enough risks anymore as far as just saying it. Saying what you really think.”

They met back in college in Mississippi and quickly knew they were right for each other. Six days after their first interview, they decided marriage was in the cards.

The Napiers stressed that clear intentions and being direct saves time and heartbreak. Ben put it plainly, “Even if it breaks your heart… at least you know you’re not wasting your time.”

The couple moved back to Erin’s hometown and built their life there, eventually landing their HGTV show after sharing their project work online. They restore old homes and run a store, all while raising two daughters.

Ben and Erin said the hardest part of working together is keeping surprises from one another. With near-perfect communication and no secrets, there’s little room for surprises. “We’re together 24/7,” Erin said. “We know everything. We have no secrets.”

They’re gearing up for the next season of “Home Town” and hope their story encourages more folks to speak honestly in life and love.
