January 1, Gov to Bette Midler: Kiss My Dog’s ‘Hiney’
West Virginia Gov. Jim Justice (R) has a message for critics, including actress Bette Midler, who called his constituents “poor, illiterate and strung out” after Sen. Joe Manchin (D) refused to support President Joe Biden’s Build Back Better Act.
Justice concluded his State of the State address by lifting his English bulldog and presenting her rear end to the cameras and attendees.
“Babydog tells Bette Midler and all those out there: Kiss her hiney,” Justice said.
While Justice’s cheeky sign-off was met with applause and cheers, not everyone was amused.
“The @WVGovernor brought his Babydog and pony show to the State of the State and pulled this stunt as some bold statement. It was nothing short of embarrassing and beneath the office,” West Virginia Democratic Del. Shawn Fluharty tweeted.
Last month, Midler addressed Manchin on Twitter, writing: “What [Manchin], who represents a population smaller than Brooklyn, has done to the rest of America, who wants to move forward, not backward, like his state, is horrible. He sold us out. He wants us all to be just like his state, West Virginia. Poor, illiterate and strung out.”
Midler later apologized “to the good people of WVA” for her “outburst” following backlash.

The problem with freemason b/witch Bette Midler, is that she’s a washed up p.o.s.! Besides a good song or two she IS nothing. Listen to what she sings now, HATE for anybody that isn’t of her quality. She has no quality, therefore she should hate everyone… equally! Did Bette ever do anything besides sing a song or two? Has she ever stood up for ANYTHING of good nature or character? Now ya know the devil owned Bette… what a COMPLETE waste of life! Walk to the toilet, sit down and let Bette go. Make absolutely sure you flush or you’ll have to smell her too… she is what she is… scum
